The vines of Gatebourse, planted in the 70s, located at the lieu-dit les Brosses in Quincy, are rooted in tawny sandy gravels that run several metres deep. It’s usually the first plot of white grapes that we pick and it gives a wine that expresses all the freshness, the fruit and the powerful identity of Sauvignon Blanc.
The Terroirs Collection comprises five distinct cuvées, four of which are AOC Quincy, each sourced from a specific plot of old vines and vinified in 8- to 9-year-old barrels and/or in concrete egg-shaped tanks using indigenous yeasts. And now, Les Coignons, the latest addition, is AOC Reuilly!

📝 Wine tasting notes
A very subtle, elegant and complex aromatic pallet, floral and mineral notes, a slim silhouette, very classy, nuances of terpenes and bitterness giving a salivating finish.
« The wine has a lemon-yellow color of medium intensity. The nose is fruity, ripe and juicy. It expresses notes of stone fruits (yellow peach, apricot), a fine touch of fresh almond (see apricot kernel), lemon, candied lemon peel, a bitter side of grapefruit, as well a subtle note of fennel, a fragrant floral bouquet (apple blossom, acacia), as well as a note of honey and quince paste in the background. On the palate, the wine offers accuracy and a certain roundness. It expresses notes of stone fruits (white peach, apricot), fresh lemon, candied lemon peel, fresh pineapple, a touch of fresh quince and crushed green apple, combined with notes of wildflowers, apple blossom, honey, as well as a saline mineral touch and a delicate spiciness(nutmeg in the background). The finish is quite persistent, with citrus notes and a nice acidity, accompanied by a delicate roundness of apricot on the finish. Score : 15+/20 (89-90/100) » (Vert de Vin n°23, juillet 2023)
