Genouillet
This vintage comes from the ‘mother vines’ of the grape variety Genouillet, a long-gone vine cultivar that used to cover more than 3,000 hectares of the Issoudun area, in the Indre department. This variety had nearly completely disappeared after the Phylloxera crisis (end 19th century). In 2023, the half hectare that we planted in our vineyard at the lieu-dit les Geuchères will start producing. In the meantime, we were given the opportunity to harvest Genouillet from a colleague’s vines and so, get the chance to work on our wine recipe!
Good to enjoy with friends at the aperitif as its fruit speaks for itself!
Its drinking life will carry on for 6/10 years.

Genouillet

Wine tasting notes
Fruity wine with a good spice kick, a firm touch of acidity typical of this grape variety that it still little known, wild and soft, all the freshness of 2021!
