This vintage comes from the grape variety Genouillet, a long-gone vine cultivar that used to cover more than 3,000 hectares of the Issoudun area, in the Indre department. This variety had nearly completely disappeared after the Phylloxera crisis (end 19th century). In 2023, we planted half an hectare in our vineyard at the lieu-dit les Geuchères. In the meantime, we were given the opportunity to harvest Genouillet from a colleague’s vines and so, get the chance to work on our wine recipe!
